We develop a real-time data project for a leading glass manufacturer to identify and replicate their best production runs across three continents.
We participated with one of our clients, a leading company in the Glass industry in a project for their plants in Mexico, the United States, and Europe. One of their key challenges was the lack of visibility to objectively compare production runs.
In this real-time process information project, PI System technology was used as the data infrastructure, employing tools such as PI Event Frames and PI Data Link, among others.
We developed a methodology to capture, analyze, and compare the production and quality results of each run. From this analysis, we were able to identify the most efficient runs known as Golden Runs, and extract the exact operating parameters that led to superior outcomes. These parameters now serve as reference standards for future operations.
The benefits:
-Defined operational benchmarks based on actual high-performance runs
-Improved quality and consistency across multiple plants and production lines
– Standardization of best practices, reducing variability between shifts and locations
-Data-driven decision making for continuous process improvement
-Alignment of production goals with proven KPI targets
Thanks to this project, the client can now replicate their most successful production conditions, resulting in higher efficiency, reduced waste, and better product quality across all plants.
