The RDM-FB model is a version specifically developed for gas supply metering stations that use EMERSON’s FloBoss™ equipment. By using our RDM-FB device and our proprietary WDM software, we have implemented a robust and efficient data collection system.
The RDM-FB device communicates with the FloBoss™ via the Modbus RTU protocol, and then transmits the information using the cellular data network. The data is received on a central server where our WDM software is installed, which then provides the validated information to the customer’s Information System.
This system eliminates the need for a technician to physically visit the station to collect consumption data, simplifying and speeding up the billing process.
The RDM device establishes a GPRS/GSM cellular connection to send this information via a CSV (Comma Separated Variable) file to a central FTP data server. Once received, the data is processed and validated through CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) algorithms, and then made available for integration into the client’s data historization system. This process can be configured to occur every 15, 30, or 60 minutes, depending on user preferences.
The data collected from the metering station is not only transmitted but also stored locally on a microSD memory unit inside the RDM device for backup and auditing purposes. The SD memory can store up to 2 full years of information.
The system allows the sending of operation alerts via SMS and/or Email to predefined phone numbers and email addresses.
The RDM-FB configuration can be performed either locally via Ethernet or remotely via telemetry, all using the WDM software.
