Smart Ball Weight System

Previous slide
Next slide

The BWS System is designed to collect specific data from each line of the dough ball molding machine in the food industry.

The system is designed to control a weighing sequence by guiding the operator through lights and audible alarms, indicating when to start a weighing sequence and which row to place the dough ball on the scale.

The equipment communicates with the plant information system to obtain the product information currently running on the machine. This way, the BWS equipment has the target weight information and the high and low limits. In real time, the operator is alerted when the weight of a dough ball falls outside the established operating limits.

Each time a weight is recorded by the BWS equipment, it is sent to the plant information system to log the weight, date and time, machine, and row from which it originates. This allows for real-time detection of process trends and also indicates when a dough molding machine requires mechanical inspection due to significant weight differences between its various rows.

Key Benefits:

  • Every Weight Sequence is recorded in SCADA History
  • As Ball Weights are recorder per Row, data can be used to determine problems in rounder/divider machine
  • Weight Limits are automatically read directly from Product Specs Definition
  • Immediate alarms when balls weight is out of products specs
  • System indicates by a light and buzzer when weigh sequence is due
  • Period time between Weight sequence can be adjusted by supervisor
