Robot Monitoring in Manufacturing Laboratories

In the course of 2019 to 2021, we participated in a project with a highly prestigious Educational Institution in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León.


The objective of this Project was for students to obtain knowledge of Information Technologies in Real Time, using it to monitor the Robots of different brands used in manufacturing laboratories to generate a historical database and also information in Real Time, as well as reports for the evaluation of the performance of the equipment.


This was achieved by implementing the OSISoft PI Infraestructure, which was configured to have access to the necessary data, such as positions of all axes, consumption in amperes of the motors, motor speeds and energy consumption, all through the Modbus TCP Protocol, one of the IP interfaces, making the Client-Server connection, with a scanning frequency of 100 milliseconds.
