N2 Injection Site Reports

When oil wells decrease their production, one of the techniques used for well reactivation is the injection of Nitrogen or Air at high pressure, thereby stimulating the extraction of crude oil from the well.

SIOS participated in this project by developing a hardware and software tool designed to meet the monitoring, reporting, and billing needs of nitrogen injection operations in oil wells.

The client’s issue was a delay of up to 60 days after the service was completed for invoice entry, due to:

  • Manual collection of files on USB drives from the injection units
  • Manual assembly of source data and report preparation in gas offices
  • Locating the PEMEX representative to obtain client signatures at the well

To address this issue, we designed a system that consists of custom-developed software running on an industrial PC in a control panel suited to the project’s operating conditions and environment. The entire system was developed with the aim of meeting all PEMEX requirements, so that upon completion of the injection service, the necessary documents for client acceptance of the Work Order can be printed on-site and immediately, resulting in the following benefits:

  • Review of the Injection process on-site and in real-time.
  • Printing of graphical reports and documents at the end of the injection service.
  • Substantial reduction in the days required for invoice entry with the final client.
