Industry 4.0 in Food

We collaborated with a client in the Food Industry to implement a Industry 4.0 project.

The project was implemented using PI System technology in the production processes of the plants for the real-time collection of various data sources, including information from PLCs, Relational Databases, etc. This enabled the processing of this information for the calculation and display of Process Indicators and real-time notifications, both on the production floor and via email, in addition to generating production reports.

For this project, a link to their ERP SAP system was developed for access to production orders and quality results of the products. The system displays real-time KPIs related to:

Finished Product
Equipment Performance
Production Order Compliance
Non-Conforming Product
The system has also been used to detect real-time deviations in operating parameters and indicators of downtime causes. For this purpose, analyses and dashboards were developed to show the causes of downtime for each line, which can be navigated by viewing them based on the frequency with which they have occurred.

For data visualization, large-format monitors were installed on the production floor, connected to tablets or industrial PCs, where the real-time status of the KPIs from different production lines can be viewed.

The system is currently operating in the plants of the Monterrey and Puebla group.
