From data acquisition to performance reports
Between 2019 and 2021, we partnered with a prestigious educational institution in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
They needed a solution that would allow students to monitor manufacturing robots from various brands, capture both real-time and historical data, and generate performance reports that reflect actual equipment behavior during operation.
To meet these requirements, we implemented the OSIsoft PI System infrastructure, configuring it to collect data using the Modbus TCP protocol through a high frequency client-server connection (100-millisecond scan rate). This setup allowed students and faculty to:
- Visualize robotic performance in real time
- Store historical data for deeper analysis
- Generate custom reports
This collaboration not only strengthened the academic program, but also helped bridge the gap between industrial technology and education.
